More of the Flyers in the News

The fame of the Flyers is spreading. Following our initial coverage in the September issue of the Vikings Newsletter the Chronicle has also recorded the exploits of the Flyers - Oct 6 edition.

Classic quotes abound in the article, such as the "...the Flyers are a 'special' bunch of men and women..." - but it is good publicity and shows the rest of the public what they're missing out on.

Taming the Email Beast

As the modern age engulfs us with floods of emails (remember the concept of the paperless office?) the Flyers are doing their bit to make members' lives easier. As we get emails from the CDBA and other sources, we'll put them up on the Headlines page, where you can read at your leisure the latest news. Once a week we'll send out a short email listing the latest news and any other important news from the Flyers, which you can still find on our News page.

Membership Renewals

With the introduction of the new CDBA Constitution there are some changes in the way membership of the CDBA is run. This season, all members will need to fill out a CDBA Membership Form. See the News Page for full details.

Macau - World's Best Racing!

The Flyers Grandmasters Womens team have just finished racing at the 7th World Club Crew Championships, held on the Nam Van Lakes in Macau.

The racing was tough - check out the Macau Matters page for the results and report on the trials and tribulations of paddling on the international stage. And, for some reason Dylan was led astray and appears in videos - continuing his fine form at the Nationals no doubt; to quote "Dylan made many international friends and will feature in home movies across the world. He now has a Macau dragon playmate"

2010 Nationals - the Wash Up

Well it's all over for another year. Tales will be told, songs sung and photo's emerge to describe the Flyers efforts in Adelaide. Highlights of the event included many Flyers in the ACT Grand Master Women's team picking up a silver medal, the Premier Mixed team (pictured below) making it through to the Semis and being placed 18th in the country.

But there were also some low lights. Despite what you say, some people don't know when to stop!

More information will appear on the Flyers Facebook Group and on the News page shortly.
