DBACT is pleased to announce that Gillian Styles will be the ACT Flagbearer at the 2022 Australian Dragon Boat Championships.

Gillian is a notable member of the Australian Dragon Boat community. Her extraordinary contribution to the development of the sport spans 15+ years.

Gillian’s is a level 3 AusDBF official, officiating for the 2007 World Club Crew championships, at numerous Australian Championships, ACT Championships, local regattas and interstate events becoming an IDBF accredited race official in August 2008.

Gillian’s is the ACT representative in the Race Official Mentoring Program, Gillian is a level 3 sweep and supports her club as a level 1 accredited Coach.

As a DBACT committee member Gillian took a leading role in the organisation of both Australian Championships held in Canberra and was the manager of the ACT Team in 2015.

Gillian also promotes the sport through her coaching of numerous corporate teams and her role as the DBACT representative on the Canberra Lake Users Group.

Gillian is an active member of Dragon Flyers and DA ACT, paddling locally, nationally, and overseas at several World Club Crew Championships.

The breadth and depth of her contribution over many years to the development of our sport is outstanding. Gillian is widely respected for all she contributes to dragon boating in Australia.
