Gym sessions start on 4th June and finish on 27th August, they are free for all Flyers members Tuesday evenings 6 pm – 7 pm at the Lakeside Leisure Centre Tuggeranong and are run by a qualified gym instructor.

PFD's are required at all sessions from the 1st May to end August but this is usually extended to end September due to water temperatures. it is a good idea to have a plastic pea whistle and a small water activated light or waterproof torch . Please wear appropriate clothing and have a change or clothes or additional layers handy in the car if need be. Warm up to is really important and also stretching after your sessions.

            Minimum paddler numbers - in the interest of safety the minimum number of paddlers over winter is 10.

Night sessions - During July there will be no night paddling sessions as we did last winter. Consideration was given to whether this should be extended for a longer period, however due to having members who enjoy the evening sessions it was decided to keep it at just over July. Everyone should be aware they are not obliged to paddle/sweep/coach  at any time, and should they decide to either only paddle in daytime over winter - or not at all in the colder months - that is perfectly fine. We do have people who do other winter sports or who prefer not to do water sports in the cold. Likewise if at any time you don't like the conditions on any particular day you can opt out, there is no issue with that we all have our own comfort zones and no one should feel obliged to train if they are not happy to do so. This applies to paddlers , sweeps and coaches.

Please note the following winter training program – please read carefully as each month is slightly different. Due to a whole host of factors, we cannot run a regular daytime paddle this year at this point in time.
